Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Education

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Education 1.- What is true knowledge; Football analogy Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-20   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Students! You are familiar with the game of football. There are six players on each side for this game and the goal is at the end of each side. The six internal enemies- desire, anger, covetousness, attachment, pride and jealousy are the players on one side and on the other side truth, righteousness, peace, love, non-violence and sacrifice are the players in the game of life where the individual’s life is the ball. Worldly knowledge and spiritual knowledge are the boundary limits. If the ball of life goes outside the boundary limit it is considered as ‘out’ but not goal. So study both and learn to lead the life. All fields of worldly knowledge are like rivers and rivulets. Ultimately all these reach the ocean of spiritual education. Ocean is the destination for all rivers. However many types of knowledge you learn, the ultimate destination is God’s grace. Having this firm faith, develop the loving nature.   Listen To Full Discourse Selfless love and firm faith Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-20 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Embodiment’s of Love! The hall-mark of love is Thyaga (selfless sacrifice). Love seeks nothing from anyone. It bears no ill-will towards anyone. It is utterly selfless and pure. Failing to understand the true nature of love, man yearns for it in various ways. Love has to be cherished with feelings of selflessness and sacrifice. In what is deemed as love in the world– whether it be maternal love, brotherly love, or friendship—there is an element of selfishness. Only God’s love is totally free from the taint of selfishness. Divine love reaches out even to the remotest being. It brings together those who are separate. It raises man from animality to divinity. It transforms gradually all forms of worldly love to Divine love. To experience this Divine love, men must be prepared to give up selfishness and self-interest. They must develop purity and steadfastness. With firm faith in the Divine, they must foster the love of God regardless of all obstacles and ordeals.      Selfless love and firm faith Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-20 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Embodiment’s of Love! What sort of effect has western education had that the native culture is totally destroyed. The effect of western education is such that the ancient wealth and wisdom have evaporated. The importance and the effect of western education is such that truth and righteousness have disappeared. The effect and the impact of the western education is such that we are increasingly enamored by our attire and language. It appears to be a mistake to speak in one’s own mother tongue. One is hesitant to observe societal norms. They hang back to respect their own teachers. The effect of education is totally lost.   Listen To Full Discourse dhere to Sathya and Dharma Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-11-22   Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Can an education which is not of use to society or the nation be called education at all? Every year the colleges are letting lose upon the world lakhs of degree-holders. What is their future? What is the goal of the educational system? When you pose these questions, the answer you get is that the educational system has become mechanic. In today’s education you find no trace of character-building, respect for values and regard for tradition. Education is pursued for selfish purposes and not for serving society.   dhere to Sathya and Dharma Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-11-22   Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Can an education which is not of use to society or the nation be called education at all? Education

Education Living with God is education Living for God is Service Living in God is Realization Unity is Divinity. Character is the most precious gift of education. True education is not for a mere living, but for a fuller and meaningful life. Virtue is the sign of the educated person. This is what makes education worthwhile. Education should build character. Its is Truth and Truth alone, that is one’s real friend, relative. Earning money cannot be the purpose of education. Base all educational efforts on building up of the character of the students, and then you can confidently think of raising on in the super-structure of curricula. Acquiring good qualities can be the only purpose of education. Peace can only be won the hard way, by eliminating violence and greed from the hearts of individual. Education must remove hatred between the pilgrims on the various roads to God. Politics without principles, Education without character, Science without humanity, and Commerce without morality Are not only useless, but positively dangerous. Education softens the heart. If the heart is hard, one cannot claim to be educated. Knowledge that is not put into practice is like food that is not digested. Education – A Sacred Path of Knowledge, Character, and Inner Growth Education is one of the most powerful gifts in human life. It gives knowledge, confidence, discipline, and the ability to understand the world in a better way. But true education is not only about reading books, passing exams, or getting a good job. Real education should also build character, develop compassion, and guide a person toward truth, wisdom, and responsible living. In today’s world, many people think that Education means only marks, degrees, career, and success. These things are important, but they are not complete by themselves. A person may be highly qualified, but if the heart is full of pride, selfishness, dishonesty, and cruelty, then learning has not reached its highest purpose. True education must make a person humble, kind, honest, and useful to society. The purpose of Education is to remove ignorance. Ignorance does not mean only lack of information. It also means wrong thinking, narrow vision, ego, fear, and lack of values. When education is guided by goodness, it teaches a person how to think clearly, speak respectfully, act responsibly, and live meaningfully. It opens the mind and softens the heart. A good education should teach both knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge helps us understand facts, skills, and subjects. Wisdom helps us use that knowledge in the right way. Without wisdom, knowledge can become dangerous. Education becomes sacred when it teaches us not only how to earn, but also how to live; not only how to succeed, but also how to serve. Character is the foundation of true learning. Honesty, discipline, patience, respect, and self-control should grow along with intelligence. A student who learns many subjects but does not learn truthfulness remains incomplete. Education should help a person choose right over wrong, kindness over cruelty, and hard work over laziness. These values remain useful throughout life. Education also gives freedom. It helps people rise above fear, confusion, and helplessness. It gives the courage to ask questions, solve problems, and make better decisions. A truly educated person does not blindly follow wrong ideas. Such a person thinks deeply, acts wisely, and respects truth. Education should also create compassion. The more we learn, the more we should understand the struggles of others. A learned person should not become proud or look down on others. Instead, knowledge should inspire service. Teaching someone, helping the poor, guiding the confused, and using knowledge for the welfare of society are all noble uses of education. Parents and teachers play a very important role in education. A teacher does not only explain lessons; a true teacher shapes life. Good teachers awaken confidence, discipline, curiosity, and moral strength in students. Parents also teach through their actions. Children learn honesty, kindness, and respect more from example than from instruction. In spiritual understanding, Education should also help a person know the self. Outer knowledge tells us about the world, but inner knowledge tells us about who we are, why we are here, and how we should live. When outer knowledge and inner values come together, life becomes balanced and meaningful. In the end, education is not only preparation for a career; it is preparation for life. It should make the mind sharp, the heart pure, and the hands ready for service. A truly educated person becomes a blessing to family, society, and the world. A person who understands Education uses learning with humility and wisdom. Such a person does not live only for personal success, but also for the good of others. This is the real blessing of education – it turns knowledge into character, success into service, and human life into a path of growth, goodness, and divine awareness.
